About Me – Background

My name is Breege Leddy and I have worked as a sleep technologist since 2003. Throughout my career I have seen all types of sleep disorders and I have seen how these sleep problems can impact on peoples lives. Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder seen by physicians.

Majority of people with insomnia are treated by means of medication. However the negative and dangerous effects of long term use of these medications are becoming increasingly evident.

This is why I set up The Insomnia Clinic in 2013. It offers CBT-I which is a clinically proven non pharmacologic form of long term treatment for insomnia.

I studied Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) in DIT Kevin St, Dublin & qualified in 2005.

I gained the internationally recognized RPSGT in 2008 and completed a CPD in Behavioural Sleep Medicine in 2012 (University of Glasgow).

I recently took up the position of Acting Manager of Sleep and Clinical Physiology in The Mater Private Hospital, Dublin.
